I endorse Mitzi Nicoletti for Longmont City Council. I have worked with Mitzi over the past couple of years as she has served as a  leader and coordinator with Sustainable Resilient Longmont and the Longmont Climate Community.  Mitzi has tirelessly stood up for a healthy, equitable and sustainable Longmont. .I know she has the skills, experience and fortitude to be an excellent candidate for the Longmont City Council.

I support Mitzi Nicoletti’s run for the at-large seat on our council.  She quietly gets to work, thoroughly doing research on a project and gets results. For three years I have worked with Mitzi in various areas concerning Longmont.  Her attention and love for our environment never wavers. As an avid rower and cyclist, she understands the consequences of ignoring the causes of our poor air quality. Whether it’s a scientist, environmentalist, sports enthusiast or business owner, Mitzi’s network for research to make informed policy decisions is invaluable.

I have known Mitzi Nicoletti for nearly a decade and find her to be a person of integrity, commitment, and high moral character.  She is firmly devoted to addressing environmental issues, as evidenced by her early project in preserving parts of South Padre Island in the Gulf of Mexico and by her ongoing efforts today to educate decision makers and the public on environmental issues relevant to them.  Years ago, Ms. Nicoletti used her networking skills to bring several Longmont City Council members and City employees to NOAA, where, as Laboratory Director, I led discussions with them on the drivers of climate change.  She has since been active in the community seeking a balance among economic activity, climate change, and public health, and served as a board member of Sustainable, Resilient Longmont, an organization dedicated to the long term health and viability of the city and its environs. Citizens of Longmont would do well to elect Ms. Nicoletti to their City Council, as she would support an agenda that is fair, honest, and effective.  Longmont is a great city and we want to keep it that way.

 I have known Mitzi Nicoletti for at least 15 years. The one thing that stands out to me about Mitzi is her ability to build community and connections with people in all of her endeavors. She has helped create networking groups like Women, Wine and Chocolate. She has served her community by volunteering with organizations like Sustainably Resilient Longmont. She worked to create a rowing club at Union Reservoir. She cares about this community and knows how to make things happen. She has an ability to connect with people from all backgrounds and would be an outstanding City Council member for Longmont. Mitzi is my choice for the At-Large seat on Longmont City Council in the upcoming  election. Although a newcomer to local politics, Mitzi has a wealth of knowledge and experience gleaned from years of work in both the public and private sectors. She is an entrepreneur, having built her own business in the field of marketing, resource development and health services. As an individual, she has been a lifelong environmentalist and social reformer with a desire to support and improve the lives of others in any way she can.

When elected to council, Mitzi will apply her expertise to fight for cleaner air and water, support and defend small businesses, and advocate for our citizens who are experiencing personal crises and homelessness.

She is a strong supporter of Longmont small business and committed to their growth. I first met Mitzi through a small networking group when I first moved to Longmont. She later started her own women’s networking group (Wine, Women and Chocolate) to help support women in business and talk about issues. This was very helpful in the early stages of my business. This is just one reason why Mitzi has my support for Longmont City Council, where she will be able to make positive changes to our community.
